is it just me or am i the only one who cant get enough of the funky synth solo near the end?

i wish they could end with that, i always thought the ending to that song is kinda cheesy, but i still love the song.

Oh, I see, you're one of those who encourages the cruel cutting of SOYCD on Echoes.... I see how it is.

No Dumb@$$...

He's simply saying that he likes the syn. solo in SOYCD#2...

Besides, the one on Echoes only goes up to Part #7. And he said Parts 6-9, which is the original version.

I, myself, love that part also. It has the funkiest, coolest, sweetest bass rythym ever.

Sorry gerald, if i came on a bit strong.

Well, those parts get a little boring but the ending is beautiful!

I wouldn't think you had come on "a bit strong" had I been serious in my post.... I apologize if sometimes my sarcasm is not presented in a clear manner. I was not, however, intending to be taken seriously, and the fact that I was now makes me doubt my skills at rhetorical phrasing and the like. Again, apologies all around.

I'm all for the Echoes version. 1-7 are amazing, and 9 is good, but 8 I can do without.

Echoes version is good for a compilation album but Shine On is awesome in its entirety, and I definitely LOVE parts 8 and 9.

I feel that SOYCD is perfect (WYWH version, i full entirety)

I read in an interview with Gilmour that it was meant to be all together, so maybe the echoes version is the way it was going to sound like before Waters chose to begin and end the album with it. The band agreed that it sounded better apart.

Apart from keeping space on the CD for other songs, why would they want to do this? And the same for Echoes (the song) im shocked and appaulled that they would chop up the title song.

I know this is a bit out of topic, but what do you mean by "work"? I can see quotes just fine here... Please let me know, so I can fix it, if it's broken.
