Pink Floyd re-union?

We have a facebook page to support a concert by Pink Floyd in Cyprus to support the current unification talks.

If you want to see Pink Floyd play again support our page
Do you want Pink Floyd to perform across the green line in Nicosia? | Facebook

Roger has been trying to play in Nicosia for several years now, but there has always been logistical problems. If we get enough support for this campaign we may be able to persuade the people that matter (ie The Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot authorities to smooth the way.)

We already have the support of the Cyrus Tourist organisation, and in less than a month have over 4,500 supporters.

Obviously the biggest problem is Roger, but anything is possible, it is hoped the concert would also be a tribute to Richard.

With your support we can make it happen, think positively and dream the dream... it could make a real difference to the future of Cyprus and something special for all Floyd fans...
thanks for reading...

Pete

Re: Pink Floyd re-union?

Why is Roger "obviously" the biggest problem, if he's been trying to play in Cyprus for years? I would think that David Gilmour, who hasn't appeared outside of London since 2006, and has never responded well to the idea of a reunion, would be the hardest sell.

Ledra Street would have been a great venue for Roger to perform on his 2008 tour, considering the significance of the barrier coming down that year. It looks like tensions are continuing to thaw, but perhaps a Pink Floyd concert would help bring support for the demilitarization effort; who knows?

Re: Pink Floyd re-union?

I'm not sure what a Pink Floyd reunion quite means without Rick. I doubt that anyone would refer to it as a Beatles reunion if Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr toured together.
