He had some nice tracks while in Ben Folds Five,

but i just saw him a few days ago in Ann Arbor, Michigan -- and it was friggin' awesome.

It was just him and a piano, and he's so great at piano (not to mention a very funny guy - who had the whole audience stand up and put up their middle-fingers -he took a picture of us  )

Good stuff, and i'm sorry, but he puts Mr. Wright in his place (with piano - sure Great Gig in the Sky lives up to all Ben Folds tunes, but the piano on the rest of the songs just doesn't do it like Mr. Folds does).

Anyway, i just wonder if anyone here knows what i'm talking about
cheers.

"Shakes his head"

Kevin, come on - do you really need to ask?

(a joke regarding your mother was in the works, i'm sorry for not finishing it, but don't take it to heart)

Ben Folds is an amazing piano player. His live CD really allows him to show off what he can do. His cover of Tiny Dancer rivals Elton John's version, and his ability to make up impromptu ditties like "Rock this Bi*ch" is awesome. He also gives hope to all piano-bangers around the world like me! (what? there's no such thing as pianissimo!)

"Whatever and Ever Amen" is really, really good (I'm trying to learn "Brick" on finger-picking guitar) but I didn't much like "The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner" or however it's spelled. He did produce Shatner's "Has Been" album so the man is okay in my book.

He recently played a live show at my school. I didn't go though, gave my ticket to a guy who had lost his.

I downloaded a DVD of his solo show off easytree.org, and it was phenomenal. Afterwards I played "Zak and Sara" so hard on my keyboard the screws came loose! Now that's rawk and roll!
