Re: If anyone can help me...

Hello all,

I am a student at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, USA. I am a music business major and as part of my seminar course, I have to do some sort of interview with a person inside the industry who works or has worked in the same area I am interested in.

I am very interested in interviewing David Gilmour. I know it is a long shot, but you never know. I have the address of his house in London, but unfortunately I read he recently sold it for charity. If anyone could give me any information on how I might be able to get in touch with him or get in touch with someone that can get in touch with him, it would be greatly appriciated.

Thank you.

P.S.. Just found this site today. Will be bookmarking this one!

Re: If anyone can help me...

Have you ever thought about contacting EMI or Columbia? EMI is responsible for all of the PF back-catalog, and the band was under contract to Columbia as of their last release, so either company may be a good starting point. Contact their PR people with your proposal, and see what happens.

Re: If anyone can help me...

thanks guys..

actually Columbia is owned by EMI... EMI group is one of the 5 Mega Corporations that basically own all companies in the business.

We have a huge book of contacts here and contacting EMI would be no problem. Gotta find out who inside EMI to contact now... who associates with Floyd the most that works there... gotta do some research now. Thanks again.

Re: If anyone can help me...

Hey if u find him and interview him let us know about it okay. Just interesting to how Dave will react to this sort of proposal. Will he accpet with open arms, or (like the big famous muscian he is) say, "Piss off".

Actually, EMI owns Capitol Records, but not Columbia. Columbia is a Sony Music Company. Anyway, normally the easiest way to interview someone is to contact their management. While I wish you luck in your quest to interview David, I fear you are wasting your time. Unless you are a noted journalist, it is highly unlikely that anyone in his camp will give you the time of day.
