I have a few documentaries and she's on one of them talking about 'Great Gig". I think it might be the BBC one from 94. I was totally surprised she was white to.
She talks about her part. Apparently neither her or the band really knew what she should do on the tune. Then, she just thought, "what if my voice was an instrument, what would it sound like?" and there you go. It was an expirement that worked very well.

I watched my documentary again last night and it is the BBC one from 94. Clare looks like a middle age english woman, mid to late 40's. Short brown hair with some gray, ok a fair amount of gray.
She reminds me a little of Melissa Etheridge, a more hetero looking Melissa Etheridge, with no overbite. If that makes any sense?

It may stir fixxy's juices to see that Katie Kissoon did session work for Dexy's Midnight Runners in '82.

Then again, maybe not.

You never know.

That Is a scary pic. But she has a great voice and to think she was only paid 30 British pounds to record Great Gig in the Sky.
