Have you seen Clare Torry?

Hi, I guess all of you know who is Clare Torry: she was the fantastic voice you can hear in The great gig in the sky... well few days ago I try to find her pics but I couldnt find anything. Can you help me? thank you very much

Here's a pic of Clare, although I have no idea which of the three singers on stage she is. Probably the one iin the centre. It was taken at the 2000 Roger Waters concert at the Madison Square Gardens in NYC.

None of those pictures are of clare! Clare is white, has large eyes and is now at least 55 years old.

I think that the images of Waters' tour dont refer to Clare Torry, 'cause she is probably quite old (Dark side was made in 72-73). I think it is quite impossible to find a photo of her, or impossible on the net. maybe if one of you has a floyd's book... thanks a lot, Jimi

Clare Torry was interviewed about her performance on Great Gig In The Sky for a BBC TV Pink Floyd Documentary in 1994/5. You can see what she looks like if any of your mates taped it off TV. If you don't live in the UK - you'll probably not be able to get it. The programme also has interivews with Peter Jenner, Andrew King, PFs old landlord and shit loads of rare studio/live footage including the band jamming tracks for The Division Bell.

ok madcap I've already reply to pink anderson that now clare torry is quite old. none of you has see her or knows a site with a pic of her? I think this is extremely strange, 'cause her voice - I guess she has a black voice too - and the song are fantastic...

Hey Cory, I went to that website and read several of the reviews of that concert series back in '00-01, and they specifically mentioned that Clare was one of the guest back-up singers. Now that may be misleading information, but why not? I would think that Roger would want her to sing, especially since she continues to appear on other people's records here and there as a singer. As for the pic, how can you tell who is who? It does not seem clear enough to identify any specific fae, much less determine the age of the woman. Do you have some special software that I don't? Do you have that new Intel chip, or something?

I don't know where you heard that. Clare Torry was a guest back up singer on Roger's Radio KAOS tour in 1987, but I never heard anything about her on the ITF tour. The three back up singers are PP Arnold, Susannah Melvoin and Katie Kissoon. BTW, if you watch the ITF DVD, you can find out which one is which.
