Well said Sidney, that's what I was trying to express with my post but you explained it better.
In fact I oughta add that also Dave's guitar parts are not hard to play at all, but I doubt anyone here would ever call his style shitty!
I mean there's no dpubt about Dave being one of the greatest guitarist in rock history, and this has nothing to do with how hard are his guitar parts to play.
A similar point could be made about many other great musicians, like U2's The Edge, or Joy Division's Peter Hook to name but a few.
And to create such memorable basslines does require talent, for musical intuition is, IMHO, an essential part of what is known as "talent".

And now on with the topic: the greatest bass player might well be/have been sir Paul McCartney.

I have a new Pompeii-related question I'd like to ask in case I get an opportunity to go there. In what "building" was the Pompeii video filmed?

Roger is not a great musician, but he and the rest of Floyd are great composers.

Question about the question, are you talking about the studio scenes?

I think FWr wants to know the name of the Amphitheatre.

That's right. Is it the main Amphitheatre? I saw a picture of it and I was wondering (but not entirely sure).
