Re: vegetable man

You should all by now know that Syd is my favourite Floyd member so here is what I have to say!
A lot of Syd songs are upbeat and funny like effervescing elephant, here I go, Giggolo Aunt, Octopus... And I do not know how many of you have noticed this but a lot of Syd songs seem to tell stories eg

"This is a story bout a girl that I knew
She didn't like my songs
And that made me feel blue
She said a big band is far better than you..."

And it goes on to tell a story. I wouldn't call the solo stuff psychedelic a lot of it is acoustic but its fun and boppy and very easy to sing to. I believe that if you liked Vegetable man you'll like the solo stuff.

Hope that was of some use

cheers

Re: vegetable man

the song you quoted above (who's name i fail to mention because its raining and my copy of 'madcap' is in the car) is referring to the Pink Floyd in my beliefs. Pink being a GIRL's color, and him singing about a girl that dont like his songs and so on. sit down and read the lyrics to this song, and keep in mind the whole time that the girl he's singing about is actually the Pink Floyd that kicked him out, and him finding a band that actually likes his songs.

I disagree. Sydneys' post notwithstanding.
