Re: Stuff ups in concert

Does anybody know of any stuff ups in Pink Floyd concerts?
I can only think of one, that being Nick dropping a stick in Pompeii, but he was probably stoned.
I am not trying to diss the Floyd by this, but just wondering if PInk Floyd are mortal...

I have a live version of Have a Cigar from the 1977 In The Flesh tour. Dave and Roger both start laughing during the second verse.

Re: Stuff ups in concert

David Gilmour flubbed by singing his first part twice on "Run Like Hell" at Earls Court, London 1981 for THE WALL.

Re: Stuff ups in concert

I have a live version of SOYCD, and there are missed notes, and once it sounded as if Dave sat on his guitar, but this is all in the beginning, perfect afterwards.

I have a recording of the Animals debut, and Dave starts laughing during Wish You Were Here...'cause the PA is shitting itself.

Didn't RWr ever make any mistakes? How about Nick? Or was it only RW and DG who ever fluffed live?

Re: Stuff ups in concert

Hmm...well, if you go back to the "Gilmour Live" thread, you can read about a pretty big mistake made by pretty much everyone, on one of Mr. Wright's songs.

Also, I've got a RoIO where I hear a mistake coming from the keyboards--but I think you might end up having to file this one under "technical glitch" rather than a flat-out mistake: due to the rain that had been occurring frequently on the PULSE tour, it sounds like Mr. Wright's keyboard shorted on him as he started "Great Gig". As it's dying, it makes a pretty sour chord. He tries to start it back up, but it sounds like something's been knocked out of alignment. But that one's kind of iffy; I think you have to chalk that one up to the weather.

Re: Stuff ups in concert

During the Venice concert back in 1989 (or maybe it was Knebworth 90, I'm not sure) Dave missed "So..." in the beginning of Wish You Were Here, a smile and he started with the subsequent "...so you think you can tell".

Re: Stuff ups in concert

In the last PF concerts at Earl Court Dave skips all the "and" of Eclipse... but i guess it's not really an error.

Re: Stuff ups in concert

"No one speaks and no one tries
No one flies around the sun...."

In the live in Pompeii version, it's sung diferently to the version on meddle, but on this one i think Dave sings "no one speaks..." but Rick starts to sing "some one speaks...", so it ends up sounding like "Snow one speaks ..."

Re: Stuff ups in concert

RW messes up too...
He sang a line in 'Brain Damage' too early recently while on tour. Believe it was somewhere in Latin America.

Of course, Mr. Wright would never make a mistake like that.

Re: Stuff ups in concert

Thorin...nah I don't think he laughs in "Cigar" on the one I have.

Also in the Animals debut...Dave forgets some words in Dogs, Roger forgets some words in Sheep, Roger accidently starts singing the third verse of Pigs (Three different ones) during the middle of the instrumental, Nick Mason gets a bit excited and tries to play faster the he is capable of during Pigs (three differnt ones), and a few other little fluffs that I can't remember.
