Shine On

Hello everyone,

I was browsing for some help with the Pompeii version of Echoes and I found all you Floyd fans hiding out here!

Seems like I struck lucky as this is an excellent site.

The first record I ever bought was DSOM in 1974, which I still have although the stickers were lost on my school bag many years ago.

All these years on, the sound of Gilmours guitar still moves me, it's the beautiful simplicity of it although, as a player myself, it's far from simple.

I found myself working for several years at ESE Music in Maidstone. The owner, Eric Snowball ,services Binsons and David was a client but my only claim to fame was speaking to him on the phone once!

It's good to be here and I look forward to reading and learning.

Welcome, jonathanbeatles - there is a great deal of info on this site. Please give any of the moderators a holler if you need help. And for really detailed questions, a bloke named Botley is around to provide the answers. There isn't much about PF that he doesn't know.

I still have my pristine DSOtM vinyl, with posters, as well as a bunch more... I think I still have pretty much every record I ever bought. And there are those here who envy your phone call, I'm sure.
