My friend told me that Syd Barret was god once when we were high. I believed him....

Now that I am not high, I am beginning to have my doubts. But then again...... maybe syd barret is god.....

Yes, I started a couple threads when I was a newbie.

But that was when I was a little boy searching for a dream.

*bangs head on the wall*

No, but seriously, it is getting annoying. Newbies shouldn't start topics until they get a reputation, respect, etc. on this forum. IMO

That wall that you banged your head against- is it on the inside of your colon? There's no hierarchy here. Everyone's entitled to an opinion regarding Pink Floyd, no matter how facile.

Cheers,

Mark

I suppose I'm considered a newbie as well. I've started two new threads, I think. Both of them got a number of replies.

Don't be a nazi. Anyone should be entitled to start new threads, providing they have something interesting to say (unlike this one, I admit..baaaad newbie!)

oh yeah, so many new threads get started daily, that having newbies post really isn't necessary

/sarcasm filter off

Lighten up guys, and get real. Its not about how many posts you have, its about what you can add to the community.

fixxy, If I haven't said it recently, you ARE the man! "We're not worthy. We're not worthy."

And Solitaire, if fixxy is ever otherwise "indisposed", my vote for Vice-The Man (/Woman/Thingy) MUST go to you.

Good posts also from team_NL and shits, but I don't think MadcapD is really a nazi, just a bit hasty.

MadcapD: "And do you feel abused? Huh, huh, huh."

Funnily Floydian,
Byron

p.s. yoshomon: Greetings and warm PF FanNet welcome!

p.p.s. Syd Barrett, contrary to drug-induced conviction, is NOT God.

There's really no reason to say "newbies" can't start threads...after all, maybe they've got something new to say that hasn't been covered yet.

The only thing I don't care for is REDUNDANT threads. Other than that, I think people should be able to post as they please.

I make fixxy's and FloydWright's words my own. I have no problem with newbies starting new threads. As FloydWright said, I don't like redundant posts either. People should try and do a search before posting to see if that topic has been covered or not. But other than that, anyone (and I mean ANYONE, including newbies) can (and should, if they have something to say) start new threads.

Shine on,
Paulo

Yes fixx, it was my colon, now that I think about it.
And Boab, I have been a pig lately.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding here guys.

I thought that my newbie comment was "giving advice" to the newcomers. Afterall, every forum is different! Does anybody remember the topics: "Creed anyone" or "What do you fear the most???" Well, if you don't happen to remember, they were horrible topics. I actually felt quite embarrased that I made those topics. So I guess when I "gave advice", what I really had in mind was to save the newcomers some embarrassment.

But I didn't explain myself the first time around. So I'm sorry to everyone I have offended.

And to the person who call me Nazi...I have this to say to them: Genocide is one of the most exhausting activities to participate in next to soccer.

Shaking his head to the jazzy song he has on, and wondering how we get where we are, smiling too.

A good smile.

In your opinion reputation and respect come automatically with a particular number of posts or it's a matter of quality? I hope it's not this last one, when ever will I acquire the right of opening topics if not?
