| Re: Synth sound for Dogs solo? Have you watched Roger Waters' In the Flesh: Live DVD? Jon Carin does a pretty faithful recreation on digital synth (while singing lead and playing guitar, no less). The early Minimoogs had some pretty wild pitch effects, as I recall. That's probably how it was done originally. There were not just one but several Minis on stage for the 1977 Pink Floyd tour — the synth, not the car — so it's a fairly likely candidate. By the time of The Wall ("Run Like Hell" springing to mind as a similar solo), the Prophet V had taken over for lead parts. They would also frequently use an ARP Solina for those synthesized string ensemble noises throughout both eras. Last edited by Botley; 12-23-2009 at 11:38 AM. |
