| Re: Best Floyd Guitar Solo EVER::: My favorite solo would have to be one of the most overlooked ones - "Is There Anybody Out There?" I think I like the one on The Wall Live (1980-1981) better becuse of the backgrond vocals. Like so many other Floyd solos, it's just so sad... |

| Re: Best Floyd Guitar Solo EVER::: I can see where you're coming from. It certainly is depressing, and is very easy to play on guitar (I just learned it myself). |

| Re: Best Floyd Guitar Solo EVER::: Another great solo was another one on the Wall Live CD, on Another Brick in the Wall Part II. After all of the verses and chorus, Dave just stats playing, and it goes on for a long time. When I hear one part of the solo, I think of Carlos Santana. Listen and I think you'll know what I mean. The whole thing just souns like a jam, maybe it is ... oh well. All I know is that it's classic. |

| Re: Best Floyd Guitar Solo EVER::: Numb does it for me. Pulse is the best. With Knebworth 90 close behind. My other choices: 2)SOYCD 3)Time 4)Dogs 5)High Hopes 6)all others!!! ~Brian~

| Re: Best Floyd Guitar Solo EVER::: At the moment, I'm inclined to vote for "Time", for the following reasons: 1) I keep playing DSOTM, lately, and that song has been socking me in the gut in all sorts of ways...including but not limited to the sudden realization of just how much time has passed, and how swiftly it goes...(You youngsters out there will find out what I mean, someday.) 2) It seems to me that the solo in this song encapsulates absolutely everything the song is about - the tone ranges from mournful to raging to resigned to resolute within such a short span of time. It really is beyond words, for me. Of course, ask me in a few weeks, and I'll give you an entirely different answer. Cheers! GeeDub#1

| Re: Best Floyd Guitar Solo EVER::: I gotta admit....well anyway. I have so many fave solos, but one of them stays with me for all my life. I don't know if you remember that bit but on the DSoT live version of Money, in the middle of the songs after girls singing a-capella "whoo-hoo whoo-hoo" Dave just BURSTS into the solo....I can almost come listening to that. That version of Money I prefer to ANY other. Give it a listen sometime ! xoxox JW |
