HUGELY different from Syd-PF sounds. I haven't listened to either of Syd's original solo albums in ages so am only opining from memory, but amongst a few pretty "rough" tracks, there can be found some wondrous gems. The ones that stick out in my addled brain are "Octopus" (fun and quirky, silly really), "Long Gone" (strangely haunting, if slightly grating) and "Golden Hair" (morose and forlorn). IMO, no Floyd fan should be without either BARRETT or THE MADCAP LAUGHS. Floyd up! Byron

I have all of Barretts material, mostly doubles since his boxset came out, so if you want you could get the cds from me, 2nd hand, but in perfect shape. Should save you $$. The Madcap is a great Barrett album I think. Its a bit raw at times, but it has good material on it. 'Barrett' is much more mellow and refined. But either way, you NEED to have the albums, no doubt about that.

well some of my favorite Barrett songs while he was in The Floyd are "Bike" "Astronomy Domaine" "Aronold Layne" "Pow R Toc H" and "Interstellar Overdrive" "Jugband Blues", are there any compareable songs, I would say Bike is most likely his i don't want to say immature but silliest songs does he have anything like it or is it a more grown up sound.
