has anyone here every experimented with syncing floyd albums to movies... I know about 'dark side of oz' but a while back I came across a site of a big list of nearly every floyd album and a movie it can be synced to. I'll post the link if I can find it again.

anyone have any experiences or success with this?

DreamScape

p.s. sorry if this has been posted on alot already.

Well to be frankly hones dremscape I don't know much about the synchs, I know there is a soo1 and Echoes one (is it 2001 and Echoes or am I completely off the track?????)

Anyway I'm rather interested in these synchs but have never really done much research to try and find them... hmmmm

I've tried the famous DSOTM one, with The Wizard Of Oz. My conclusion: a forced friendship.

"Dark Side of the Rainbow" is too good to be true. I don't know how someone found it, but it's one of the best pieces of entertainment I've seen in a while, and it's all a pure coincidence. I also like the synch of "Echoes" with the last segment of 2001-- they're the exact same length and the overall mood fits, but there aren't nearly as many lyrical matches or song & scene transitions as in Oz.

Alas, here is a site full of links to other sites, as well as a forum all about synchs. Have fun rooting through all of the confusion because, I have yet to find a sync that equals DSotM/WoO. In other words, most synchs suck. But have fun discovering it all.

i remember seeing a site that said you could synch bladerunner to wish you were here and the good the bad and the ugly to animals. don't know if they were at the site above cause i didn't go to it but it sounds far fetched.

Does that involve actually playing an REO album? How could you stand it?

I know of many syncs. I know a great website called the kubrick floyd site that lists tons of nsyncs and what not.. but i forgot the address. I will list a few anyways.

Blade runner with wish you were here.
echoes to the last 23 minutes of AI
echoes to the last 23 minutes of 2001.
atom heart mother to the last 23 minutes of 2001.
Meddle (replayed 3 differnt times) to the shining, which works great. but the best part is the last 23 minutes of the film to echoes when he's running through the maze.
the wall to allis in wonder land.
damn there is a lot. if I can find the address I will post it.

by the way, I've done most of this.. I think the best one is 2001 with echoes.. I suggest out all try that it will knock you on your ass and beond. Though blade runner with wish you were here also knocked me on my ass.
and so did AI with echoes, the lyrics match the storyline to AI.. it is quite bizare

I disagree, a fairly large number of syncs are let downs, as a matter of fact, most are. The exceptions are DSotR and 2001/Echoes. Meddle with Clockwork Orange is a total waste of time. But if you enjoy it, so be it.

2001's "Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite" with "Echoes" works MUCH MUCH MUCH better than "Dark Side" with "Wizard." I cannot stress this enough. Wizard/Darkside is just a series of strained coincidences, 2001/Echoes is close enough to almost be intentional. I mean, the changes are in EXACTLY the right place. It's very hard to screw it up, too.
