To which i responded with the Roger Waters story of how he came up with the idea, he then said......

He made the movie to be watched on LSD.Floyd was into it alot at the time and just after Syd Barret split.They started this project.
Yeah it is artistic but he wanted the visuals in the movie to be slow.The drawings and whatnot so you can see traces behind them.

That is very sad. Whoever wrote that clearly did not truly understand the episode of Mr. Barrett's downfall, nor did they understand its effect on Mr. Waters (it badly upset him).

I know, I know. I mean Ive seen and heard the story of the Wall hundreds of times, and even when i try to correct him nicely he insists he is right, I hate stupid people.

That guy is stupid. If he can't see past the druggs of the 60's and 70's music and see the real art that goes into making that type of music he needs to shut up. The wall is a visual treat as well as a musical one. the video has its f***ed up parts but it wouldn't be roger without some those. that guy can go to hell, he's probably some loser poser that wishes he could have some LSD but is just a snotty rich prep kid that needs to get his ass kicked!

anywho that rather disgusts me Syd and Herion I have never heard that before and I rather doubt he was hooked on it, he may have tried it but who knows it is just stupid.

and you guys are just as bad as him. if you've ever read anything about pink floyd, you would see that roger waters did, in fact, take lsd. i can write out the entire incident when i get home to my books. also, to say that lsd is he reason for syd barretts "downfall" is wrong. the boy had a fragile psyche, and he abused psychadelics. this does not happen to most people. he was out of control. the rest of pink floyd have all tripped (although i cant be sure about mason), gilmour even used to trip with syd. you guys are very narrow minded. you claim to know things you really know nothing about.

Mr. Wright says he did it twice, and decided after that it was not for him.

As for Mr. Waters tripping, I am curious. Where did you read about that incident?

Yeah I thought that Roger was the clean guy in the group, never doing much drugs if any, I could be wrong but that is what I had thought, and if someone knows differently please share. That is all i have to say bout that.

Oh man. Here we go again. And again the thread is pointing to this: "Hey, man, do they use drugs?" OK, OK. Everyone should express his thoughts, but what's the point of discussing this? What difference it makes if the Floyd members took LSD or whatever? Does their music seem worse because of this? What is more annoying for me is that people seem to need to associate Floyd with drugs all the time. Just because they make different music, use weird sounds and so on, people say: "The Wall should be watched during a LSD trip" or "Just pot makes me understand Floyd" and instantly think of drugs. I don't take any drugs, as I've already said, and I don't need them to listen to Pink Floyd music, neither does my father, my friends, my friends' parents... You know, sometimes I feel offended when I hear shit like "all Floyd fans smoke pot" or "Floyd is just for stupid hippies of the 21st century". Sometimes I just have to feel sorry for some people.

I also hate it when Floyd is associated with drugs, and I love drugs. But to think that Rog and the guys couldn't have done this without LSD is just a bit preposterous. Roger did indeed take LSD (twice) and claimed he hated it. He smoked weed and was a hard drinker. But I don't think the Wall was intended for LSD, Roger didn't direct it and Scarfe did all the artwork, so even IF it was intended for LSD, Rog had nothing to do with it. By the way, isn't there a hint of an anti-drug message in there somewhere.

To the guy who claims that he is somewhat knowledgable, I must say, he is wrong. I often argue with my brother-in-law over this same subject. Telling him that they were quite upset over Syd's whole ordeal, but he doesn't believe me.
