I think it endures because it is so seamless. All songs are good, (no clunkers to spoil the flow) all songs tie into the central theme of modern-life stressors, all songs segue flawlessly into each other...The lyrics are refreshing(not just another batch of hackneyed "love" themes)and its all tied together with Dave's dreamy lap steel guitar riffs & Ricks flowing keyboards. Maybe the perfect blend of Waters/Gilmour. And that cool heartbeat thing ties it in a big circle.

TIME Can anyone confirm for me that both David and Richard are the main vocalists on Time? I was chatting t'other day with Sydney and we were figuring out - without consulting LPs, Lyrics or Google, et al. - who sings what on which tracks?... too late...this very site answers that question. ![]() Well, since I AM here, I might as well re-iterate my agreement with Sydney's and stratman's newer review of DSotM. In a word, Brilliant! (Incidentally, I recently downloaded a RoIO of a Live performance of DSotM, circa London '72 which was interesting in itself for being unlike the studio version, with attendant longer tunes and solo virtuosi. But the very exciting and equally bloody galling thing, for me, was the encore of the very earliest parts of SOYCD, cutting off just before the song proper gets going (approx: 4'30" on WYWH studio CD). I was both at the same time. Of course, sound quality was poor, which is why I've hitherto avoided bootlegs and the like...'til now.) Time is a truly brilliant track. Obvious statement, or what? The section with Nick's (and Rick's) calming percussions after we're startled awake by the clocks is superb, supreme, sublime. Then a reprise of Beathe brings us back to more familiar, soothing territory. Have I mentioned David's guitar yet? Ok, it's a bit of a plodder in tempo, but v smooth "allthemore". ![]() Perhaps none of the band were the most execellent in their field, but when all of them were put together and played at their best, could anybody compete? I ask you? Last edited by Bride of a Bull; 05-09-2002 at 10:28 AM.

yeah i downloaded that same track. i'm pretty sure though that SOYCD is not from the same concert though it is an early version.

As I said, the audio quality is poor, but I can't seem to detect a join if the SOYCD isn't being played at the same concert.
