| Re: Shared sound effect on ATD and Broken China!? Listen very carefully to the beginning of "It's a Miracle" and the middle of "Night of 1000 Furry Toys". Do you hear it? I wonder how that happened? Are there certain "stock" sound effects that anyone can use? (Note: I do NOT want to get Mr. Wright in trouble in any way by posting this thread.)

| Re: Shared sound effect on ATD and Broken China!? I remember that back in 1996/97 after the release of Broken China I read on a fanzine that those sound effects were in fact the same. It's not so strange though, in recording studios musicians can find archives of sound effects ready to use and probably Rick and Roger did use the same "noises" even if the only studio to be used for both albums was the Mastering Lab in Los Angeles and just for the mastering by Doug Sax.

| Re: Shared sound effect on ATD and Broken China!? I figured it was the equivalent of a news broadcaster's "file footage". It just got my attention when I heard it!

| Re: Shared sound effect on ATD and Broken China!? Yes, studios have sound effects that you can use. The same is true in movies. Watch 5 different horror movies, and I'm sure that at least one scream will be repeated.

| Re: Shared sound effect on ATD and Broken China!? the birds chirping in the beginning of live versions of grantchester meadows are the same as one in the beginning of "end of the summer" by the kinks.
