We are old
We are cheap
Take our teeth out when we sleep
Got no friends
Bad eyesight
Feel like shite

We are old
We're clapped out
we're infirm
mope about
smell of wee, support tights
Feel like shite

anyhow, lately I've been doing this stuff with a mate o' mine, though he is like a big poet guy, most of what I put in is crap. I can come up with good concepts but when it comes to verse I stink up the place. literally.

Re: writing songs

I don't know...for me, I either write lyrics and music simultaneously or compose the music first. I can't write lyrics before music.

BUT--everyone's technique differs! You may need to do something else.

One thing is, do pay a little attention to meter (rhythm). You don't have to be strict with it like Shakespeare, because you'll find you can either cram or stretch things a LOT more in music. You do need to at least be mindful of the rhythm of it. But then, I have never succeeded at writing lyrics without music, so I am just trying to guess what some people might do.

well when ever i write lyrics i don't have any music put to it (well only in my mind) and i can't make the music because i don't have to instroments or its like i need to be in a studio to have certain effects.... but like we have the tunes and we can't put lyrics to it , and i think u said thats what u do , so ........

Re: writing songs

Well...sometimes it CAN get frustrating. I had one occasion when, having written the rest of the song, I spent two hours on one couplet.

Let me ask you first, do you know what you want to write about? Is there something in particular that moves you?

And even if you come up with nothing now, you should at least record an instrumental, in my opinion--it could be used later.

Re: writing songs

the problem is not finding something to write , but to put the lyrics to the tune or the tune to the lyrics , thats my problem. we have i think 3 instromental songs (and nothing else ... yet) , and we can't find any lyrics to put to it . and if u can help me on that then it would be very ...... helpful.

Re: writing songs

Well, I'm afraid it's very hard to try and advise someone else through their creative process. Beyond what I've said, there's really little I can do to help you. This is something you guys will have to deal with.

With neon handle grip, very elastic

Soft and tender, super cool design
It cost some money but now it's mine

Squeaky-clean, thanks to double impact
Union recommends medium contact

What's really interesting is that I truly ENJOYED this piece.

I honestly did.

Cheers!

yes i did too , i thinkn its alot better than the "meaning less poems" that i've come up with ,well if u get deeper into it , or something i guess to u its not meaning less , but i don't think it was intended on not being very deep and ,well meaningfull , but the point is that its better than what i've come up with (if the terms of stuff like that) and that i really like it ,
