Pink Floyd win High Court battle with EMI

The reality is that it's increasingly rare in our culture for anyone to listen to an entire album uninterrupted. I love having that experience, and will take it whenever I can, but my iPod's shuffle feature is just so damn convenient that it has irrevocably changed how I listen to music most of the time.

This ruling won't stop anyone from listening to Dark Side of the Moon in shuffle mode; nothing will, and nor should anyone try. But artists should at least reserve the right to spare their art the indignity of being sold in piecemeal chunks for more profits. In this day and age, I applaud them for taking this stand against yet another instance of EMI's increasing greed, mismanagement and shortsightedness.
