| Re: DVD audio? Hi I’m new to this list. The new audio medium is DVD audio Pink Floyd would be the most ideal band to jump on this bandwagon, considering their innovations in quadraphonics. Some of their records have already been mixed in quadraphonic. So many artists are making this leap. When will Pink Floyd release DVD audio formats? It would be great to hear their music in 5.1 surround. davidbryen |

| Re: DVD audio? I'm sure that their music would sound great in the 5.1 format. There are already CD versions (ROIOs, of course) of "Wish You Were Here" and "Dark Side of the Moon" available for playback on a DTS 5.1 compatable system. "Dark Side" doesn't sound so great, but "Wish You Were Here" is excellent. I hope that EMI decides to mix the PF catalog for 5.1. Petition, anyone? |

| Re: DVD audio? Yes I agree ENTIRELY. Music mixed in 5.1 is incredible, and the Floyd would be one of the best suited groups to do it.

| Re: DVD audio? Another album that could naturally evolve into a 5.1 version is The Final Cut. It was mixed with some weird technology that was new at the time called "holophonic sound", something aimed to give the impression of a surround/quadriphonic sound on a simple stereo system, as with holograms, graphics that are 2-dimensional but look as if they were 3-dimensional. And maybe a 5.1 mix could do justice to what I believe is a wonderful album. I bet most of those PF fans who dislike TFC would change their minds after listening to it on a 5.1 system! ![]()
