Kind of inspired by Pink Floyd The Wall

I thought about Pink's wife cheating on him and his drug addiction while writing this. I call it "The Coming Down"

The beginning of ecstasy is the beginning of the end.
Self-defeatist heart that beats blindly to your tune
unwavering and carefree as the rain patters upon the
pavement. The moment of the coming down, just to feel
that rush through your veins you must suffer the
downfall. The higher love gets you, the farther you
have to fall.

No withdrawal matches the addiction of the heart and
soul. Heartbreak is torturous while synthetic bliss
kills you faster. How many times does the heart
shatter before one gives in to the convenient demise
of voluntary impairment. Anything to forget the
shine of your smile, your eyes two suns and mine two
moons.

The desire to indulge in a crazed impulse. Anything
to feel something again. No emotion can compare.
Your sole purpose of each day is to get to the next
one and time is stagnant and each minute meaningless.
The journey to find an emotion to replace love is
a hopeless one. Nothing will stir the blissful nerves
the same way nor would one want it to as they breathe
purposeless breaths and sigh unheard sighs.

A soft pitch you can barely hear in the rain. In still, in quiet. Swift movements and the beating of wings. The color of your iris is visible in this butterfly's wing. A shade made from every facet of beauty, never seen in nature before God made his eyes. Why do the butterflies cry when he sleeps?
