That is a great unreleased song, I mean great, really trippy if you're driving. But I was wondering what was with that sound effect of a backing vocal that sounds 'a lot' like Alvin the chipmunk. You know, the voice that accompanies Barrett while delivering his lyrics. It's a really cool effect, but it's hard to imagine waters and the gang oking it, I know Barrett probably thought it up, but I want to know what you guys think! Thanks!

I prefer the live version and the BBC version to the studio. I kinda like the chipmunk voice which I'm positive is 'ole Rog.

Never thought old Rog had those notes in him (jk). And speaking of weird sounding noises, what about the ones in 'Pow R Toc H' and 'Several Species of Small Furry Animals...'. Also I like the sound effects in Nick's voice in 'One of These Days' and 'Speak to Me', the animal sounds in 'Animals' and the not-so-hidden dialogue passages in 'Dark Side', oh and why in the hell does High Hopes end with a short telepfone conversation that's really not funny, just odd, weird way to end the last song on their last album. What do you think?

See ya around, for the first time today!

I'm talking about the very end, long before the song is over, keep listening and somehow a segment of a telephone call is clearly audible. I know their albums are filled with little snippets here and there, most of them hidden, a lot of them just really apparent. This just seems weird, cause it's the last song in the album that will most probably end it all. Just listen to High Hopes in The Divioson Bell, and keep listening right to the very end, and you'll spot it.

See ya, the black and green scarecrow is sadder than me!

You REALLY misunderstood me Thorin, and re-reading my posts I can't see how I gve you that impression. Still, I think it's just odd, in no way genius.

This can usually be found paired with Vegetable Man on PF bootlegs, and is a fairly good piece of late Barrett Floyd. When Barretts solo albums where being reissued - I think as part of the Opal compilation record - it was intended that both Scream Thy Last Scream and Vegetable Man would be included, but the rest of the group wouldn't allow it.

Don't know why not, it was apparently thought indecent, as it showed Barrett in a poor state of mental health, but is it any more so than a couple of other PF tracks or some of the recordings done for Madcap Laughs and Barrett? But its not Barrett at his very best though.

David Gilmour is too much oversensitive about these two songs. I will never understand the inclusion of If It's In You and those false starts and speeches (Feel, She Took A Long Cold Look) in the ORIGINAL LP version of Madcap Laughs, which is I believe David's work. If this happened on a Pink Floyd album (uncalculatedly), David could go and commit a suicide.
