Floyd Pimps and Pimpettes!

I invite all of you to give one of the greatest bands on earth a listen. They call themselves Tool, and they've been around for a decade now. Their sound evolved from thrash to progressive rock over the course of the years. Their greatest release is their latest, Lateralus. Comprised of Maynard James Keenan (vocalist,) Adam Jones (Guitars), Justin Chancellor (Bassist,) and Danny Carey (percussion,) Tool is one of the most powerful musical outlets to come along since the Floyd.

I'd love to hear others' opinion on Tool and their music, releases, etc.... If you haven't heard them, please, do yourself a favor and buy one of their albums! Notice I say buy and not download, this is because much of their music is integrated and isn't as effective when a song stands on its own, even though there are a few choice cuts, mainly the singles, that manage.

Don't be so quick to judge!

If you're not really into Schism, I'm going to be a hypocrite and assume that you're not into heavy stuff  Maybe you'd like the songs Lateralus or Third Eye.

I love Sabbath!

Yeah, I guess in some ways the things that get classified as "metal" these days aren't exactly top-notch. But I wish more people would give Tool a chance. But hey, your taste is your taste, right?

Lateralus was quite good. So was Schism. A bright spot in a dark musical horizon. Worth a try.

If you're new to Tool, I'd suggest listening to Undertow and Aenima before listening to Lateralus. I think you'd appreciate Lateralus more after listening to the other two. Arghh! I forgot Opiate too! That is a great song.

i think i mentioned this already in a thread a long time ago but i'll repeat it anyway. i saw them in concert cause another friend wanted me to go. after the concert i wished that king crimson had been the headliner instead of the opening band. i just didn't dig tool too much.

let me ask you this, would you rather go see tool in concert or go see roger waters, or even save you money in hopes of a full floyd tour . . . and then when that doesn't happen go buy beer, pot, or whatever floats your boat . . . i'd go with roger it is the safer bet, well hell the Who are going on tour i would see them number one.
