I'll tell you what's really pathetic: people who assume that their fanaticism about a POP band affords them some special insight into the members' thoughts, feelings, aspirations and opinions without actually having spent time with those band members in reality to know whether or not their assumptions are correct.

Also, the inability to detect humour, sarcasm and general "just kidding" activity rather than expecting flame wars at every turn - now, that's pathetic. What I really found odd was that he couldn't believe that he listened to the same music as the rest of us, as if, in all his pompousness, he presumed that Floyd was for the elite, and the riff-raff just wouldn't get it. And oh yeah, the reason why the topic was abandoned is because it was ridiculous, everyone knows that Paul didn't really die, the guy is a moron. And the Beatles are overrated and the White Album should have only been a single lp, not a double.
