I wasn't being a prick or anything...just that the discussion is a comparison of Delicate Sound and PULSE (not Dark Side).

I think it is VERY good, but as you can see from the discussion...not everyone agrees.

Cool

IMHO Pulse is by far superior, DSOT video is terrible, really 80s and bad, PULSE is more contemporary, and CN is better too. Both are good though

Actually, I also prefer the DSoT video to the Pulse one (in certain areas).

Great Gig In The Sky is one very good example of where DSoT DESTROYS Pulse.

Always get a stirring in the loins when Rachel Fury "does her bit".

I'm not sure I understand where claws come into it.

Unless you're jealous of the Gilmour / Fury flirting thing.

Well, Rachel Fury is definitely the best thing in DSOT, no doubt here.

Pulse is by far superior, but to be honest, niether are all that great (in my opinion). In fact, DSOT is on the verge of terrible. I'm one of the few people who believe that any live floyd after Roger is very weak.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Roger-nut, I love 'The Division Bell', it's one of my favourite albums. But the live stuff just dosen't sound the same. Case in point: 'Any Colour You Like', which used to be a really funky Psychedelic rock piece, on 'Pulse' just sounds like a boring routine. Here's a quote I found on the net which sums up what I'm saying:

'The problem with P*U*L*S*E is that the band accomplishes little that we haven't heard before. The mix of songs on disc one are decent, but could have been better chosen. Then, on disc two, we hear a faltering attempt to recreate Dark Side'.

PULSE has a better soundquality. And it sounds looser to me than DSOT. Maybe looser isnt the right word, maybe more relaxed, more happy. I like the pulse "run like hell' better, but the DSOT CN. Tough decision. I'm not really fond of the live DSOTM version. I don't know why, it's hard to explain, but I like the studio DSOTM way better.
But "on the turning away" from DSOT is my all time PF fav, soooo....

I think I'll go with DSOT.

DSoT was my first taste of Floyd, and dagnabit, it is fantabulous. It's always going to be my favorite. I just wish I had better copies of it.
