| Re: The Floyds psychedelic music style Did the Floyd stop playing psychedelic music? the reason i ask is because roger is quoted as saying that he wanted something non psychedlic for the atom heart mother album cover (the one with the cow). I do believe that the psychedelic movement is a bit over too, which doesn't nessicarly mean that people cannot play that type of music however I ask did the floyd ever stop playing psychedelic music? if so when? like with what album? _________________ some folks say that smoking erb is a crime , if they catch you smokin their bound to drop the dime . . . -Sublime

| Re: The Floyds psychedelic music style Well, i think that's mainly an opinion question. Personally, I don't think they ever stopped. Granted, they lost their deeply rooted psychedlic sound with Syd's departure, and also Roger and Nick's movement towards a broader audienced based musical content contributed to the lessening of Syd's style of more so underground phsychedlia meant more so for the vibe and own personal artistic standpoint, rather than produceable and marketable sounds. Blah, my mouth hurts from reading as I type. |

| Re: The Floyds psychedelic music style I think (and seeing how I started this sentence, it's only an opinion) that the Floyd lost a lot of those psychedelic strings after Atom Heart Mother. If you listen to Meddle, it sounds a lot more down-to-earth. Everything after that is full of sound effects, but it doesn't really sound anything like it was with Syd or the few years after him.

| Re: The Floyds psychedelic music style IMO, the Floyd retained some aspects of psychedelia until The Wall. But Dark Side was definitely the nail in the coffin, for cosidering them a "space-rock" or psychedelic band

| Re: The Floyds psychedelic music style i would argue that even the wall contained some pyschedelic styles to it. I think that they refined over the years.
