| Re: Sounde effects One of the most interesting things about pink floyd are the sound effects, and how the never make sence... Take dark side of the moon - On speak to me with all the sound effects and everything that mad bloke says: "I know I'm mad, I've always been mad..." What does he say after that? Does anyone know? And on wish you were here, its got the interview at the start of wish you were here... What are they saying? its all disjointed words anrandom gruntings. I don't like to try an analyse things too much but it has to be asked simply out of curiousity. What are all these random words? And one other thing: Does anyone else find The insain duck at the end off Bike imensly confusing?

| Re: Sounde effects Greetings terrapin111, and jolly PFfanNet welcome. ![]() There is a thread discussing "the voices" and other such diversions under the "Just Babbling" topic header: http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/forums/v...08&forum=17&11 Enjoy, Byron

| Re: Sounde effects Byron, once again you have proven why you deserve sainthood. Gently, and with out demeaning anyone, you have guided him away from a repeat topic. Alas, you are my hero. By the way, the sounds at the beginning of WYWH is just what happens when one turns the radio knob, back in the days before digital tuners.

| Re: Sounde effects hello.. I can help a bit with the speaking at the beginning of Speak to Me... there are actually 2 voices speaking... the one is very low and difficult to hear on the dark side album but can be heard very well on PULSE... the other one can be heard on dark side with turning it up a bit... goes like this: "I've always been mad. I know I've been mad like the most of us have. Very hard to explain why you are mad even if you're not mad." now on PULSE disk 2 that voice and dialog stays the same... and you can hear the 1st voice now and it says: "I've been mad for f***ing years... absolutley years I've been over the edge for... (cannot understand because of the crowd cheering) ... working with (then he says two names that sound like Banson and Criton but he could be saying Manson and Wright)"

Cheers NNJ, but I'd prefer a knighthood. At least that way I don't have to be dead to enjoy the title. Sir Byron of Islington DOES have a rather nice ring to it. ![]()

| Re: Sounde effects Wow I'm impressed with the responses I've had... I feel more special than I care to remember and my busy and tormented mind has been layed to rest. But theres still the question of what the woman is saying to the man on the radio bit at the start of wish you were here, is it... Woman: and none with oy dereck, this star nonsense? Man: no, no ] woman: Which is it? Man: "I'm certain of it" What do you reckon?
