Which tour?

Guess my english is the problem here! (Norwegian!) I meant touring like a tourist between places in london related to The floyd. I hope that makes more sense...

shit, i dunno, but i sure would like to. i leave for a few days in london tomorrow, and then a week in rome! yay for me! if anyone has advice on what i should go see, let me know. thanx!

London:

The London Eye [Millenium Wheel] (take plenty of film; you'll be able to see most everything from the top, so long as the weather (Hah!) is fair.
Lately, though just this evening the rain's begun, the weather has been very fine and sunny for Spring in London: blazing in the sunshine, freezing in the shade.

Then stroll down to Salvador Dali's permanent exhibition of 500 works of art just a short walk from the London Eye down the embankment (County Hall).

Take a very risky open air matineé (mine was cancelled last year due to thunderstorms)of Midsummer Night's Dream in Regent's Park.
Take any one of many round London tour buses, but make sure you get a Hop on-Hop off one.

On topic: have heard of many London Walks (Jack the Ripper, The City (Financial Centre), London Pubs, Poet's London, etc.) but never PINK FLOYD'S London.

Ahhh, Roma. Capo di Mundi! Too too many places to see and things to do to name them all here but you'll quickly tire of Imperial Roman ruins, and the Holy Roman churches, trust me.

Especially for the Brits, there's a brilliant "traditional" Tea Room whose name escapes me which do a fab, almost American, breakfast just on the left of the bottom of the Spanish Steps. (Discovered this on my last trip. Fab!)

Avoid the Domus Aurea and Termini (Main-line Rail Station) at night, unless you plan to sell your arse, get mugged, or worse.

i did not even know that dali had a permanent exhibition in london, that is great news!

i am going to print your response out as i have other peoples, and have it to look at on the plane ride there, so i can decide what to do first.

And if you or any of your travelling companions want to see any mainstream theatre, the best place to get cheap(er) tickets - some shows at half-price - is at the huge white/beige kiosk on Leicester (pron: lester) Square near Piccadilly Circus.

Well, you're lucky beacuse I have the brochure right here; I didn't to go "Dali Universe" after The Wheel (managed to triple expose not only the end of one roll of film, but an whole other one as well. D'OH!) because my party was a bit tired and hungry. The weather wasn't all that pleasant either, even though it's the meerest stroll away.

I don't get out much - not beacuse I'm a "Norman No-mates" but because I'm V picky, cheeky fekkers - otherwise I could clue you in on TONS of things to see and do while you're in London.

The Jazz Café in Camden Town is also a good venue for intimate Live performances; I saw Roger McGuinn (The Byrds) there last year. Book dinner AND the show if you can. http://www.meanfiddler.com/jazzcafe/flash4/player.htm

And the refurbished Roundhouse just up the road in Kentish Town is hosting the RSC (Royal Shakespeare Co.) for a Spring season of plays. I believe the Floyd performed there many times in their early days. http://www.roundhouse.org.uk/eve_whatson-main.asp

Typical. By that I mean, changeable; the running joke being that if you don't like the weather, wait a few moments and it will soon change.

Today's been rather funny, weatherwise. When the sun is shining, in the sun it's quite warm, but in the shade, it's freezing. When it rains, sometime hails, it pours down with thunder for a while then clears.
