Floydian quotation

AC/DC's Angus Young once said:

"We don't wanna end like Pink Floyd, who act like old guys in a stage."

IMO, a very unhappy, out of context and kinda envious comment.

Hah. Whoever wrote this totally missed the point of the Floyd...a big part of the band is that they haven't marketed THEMSELVES as part of the band's image, which gives them real freedom when it comes to continuing into their later years.

A funny comment made by Mr. Wright in 1996: "We don't have a specific image to live up to, which makes it easier for us as we get older. With Pink Floyd we just have to insist that the lighting man hides us completely, so that no one can see us in our wheelchairs!"

Dear old Rick, a funny witty man indeed you are!

Funny indeed...he seems to have a cleverly dry sense of humour sometimes.

Here's another one that just about made me die laughing.

And this last one...let me just put it this way. You didn't really expect him to keep a TOTAL and COMPLETE silence on this, did you? I think the interviewer stuck his foot in his mouth pretty badly, don't you?

Though I think the last sentence is a well put (succinct) description of the trouble with Mr. Waters...

That AC/DC comment is totally out of order. The Rolling Stones are still going and some people say 'get these geriatrics off stage'. When the Floyd tour however, I've heard no bad comments about them.

BTW, no offence to any Rolling Stones fans, that's what I've heard people say.

Interesting, don't you think? Certainly highlights the uniqueness of the Floyd...

Rather it highlights how well Floyd have aged.

This is not an exact quote but nick mason said something to the effect of "it wouldn't be good to have the world over run with dinosaurs, but it's a terribly good idea to keep a few around".

oh they've got quite the sharp senses of humour!
