| Re: The Dogs Of War What does this phrase mean? Of course, I know what it means in the English language, but I mean in this album what is it supposed to symbolize? It doesn't seem to fit with AMLOR's theme, unless my interpretation of this is way off. Give your perspective freely.

| Re: The Dogs Of War If you read my interpretation under the "Terminal Frost" thread (at that time I was still called FloydWaters), you'll see better how this fits in with my take on the rest of the album--but I think that "Dogs of War" basically shows that despite our great gains in power (when we "learned to fly", perhaps), we also ended up loosing a lot of destructive forces. I know the interpretation makes little sense this way, out of the context of the rest of the "Terminal Frost" thread, so you may want to go there to read it in context.

| Re: The Dogs Of War I don't think it has a theme really. Eug'axe...I think you've confused AMLOR with TFC.

| Re: The Dogs Of War If AMLOR has a theme (which I don't think), it is not very "together", like WYWH, for example. But then, you've got Sorrow, which has a common musical theme with Yet Another Movie. Common theme or lack of inspiration? ![]() |

| Re: The Dogs Of War Sorrow and Dogs are kind of similar. I wouldn't say lack of inspiration. Dogs of War refers to the irrational and inhuman creature that is war, Sorrow refers to our ill use of the environment from a futuristic perspective. Don't sell Big Dave THAT short.

| Re: The Dogs Of War I said Sorrow and Yet Another Movie are similar. And I wasn't intending to sell Dave that short. Just writing the possibilities. And I'd say that probably the reason of the similarity is a common theme. SEE? ![]() |

| Re: The Dogs Of War I would say it's most likely a THEMED album, like The Division Bell, though it has some things in common with a true concept album. (It isn't one.) More about that is lurking about in the "Terminal Frost" thread.
