| Re: help!!!!!! Emily, I have some advice for you. Please understand I mean no malice to you whatsoever by saying this. As much as we would like to craft in our minds an ideal, a Right One, we do also have to be careful not to create something TOO unrealistic...to thus invest our deepest and most sacred emotions in something that simply cannot be fulfilled. I understand that you really love what you see in Mr. Barrett. Believe me...I think it's great that you can make such a connection with his work. But the problem comes when you make every reference to your Right One in terms of your expectations for him to be like Mr. Barrett. Maybe, since you have such a good idea of what kind of person you believe will suit you, you will find that Right One. But you must be careful...you may not be able to constantly measure the Right One up to someone else. I can guarantee you that real people will always fall short of your ideals. There is nothing wrong with HAVING an ideal. It is good to know what you want. But you need to be careful to balance yourself--not to place your hopes on an ideal that is TOO unrealistic, or you will never be happy--roving from relationship to relationship and never able to really open your heart to someone here and now. I just write this because I am worried you're going to end up with a broken heart if you try to chase a vision that is TOO difficult to fulfil.

| Re: help!!!!!! Emily, i agree with Floydwaters... No man will ever be like Sd himself and ur setting yourself up for faliure... just enjoy life and if someone remotley like Syd comes into your life, great... I t is good to know what you want but dont take it too far... cheers :smile:

| Re: help!!!!!! Yeah, I'd also cheerfully accept a guy like Syd, but I think there's no one on this Earth who is like him or at least looks like him. The one person who is and looks like him is just Syd, but he's already 56 and named Roger Keith Barrett. So I think Syd is even dead - he was killed by the drugs, and just Roger's been remained...
