Exclamation Tweaking and Tuning (for admins)

Great upgrade guy, I'm very happy to see vB here. I'm sure you guys are hunting em down, but there's some issues I ran into:

- The 'post new' button doesnt exist in the dark colorscheme, neither do a couple of the smileys when you make a new post (the last four).

- You might also want to consider adding a 'Helpdesk and questions' forum, in which unregistered members can also post. This would be a place for forum related things, and so that members who cant log in or so can cry out for help. Or of course to test sigs and avatars and all that.

Anyway, I dont know how much experience you guys have with vB but I've been a main admin at www.discussanything.com for quite a while now, and know the ins and outs pretty well. So if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Thank you for your suggestion! As you can see the "Helpdesk and Questions" forum has been added! Thank you for your offer to help out, I know if I have any questions I will know where to go if the Admin can't answer them.

Thanks again man.

Hey, thanks so much for your suggestions. Yes, I just added the Helpdesk forum, as you suggested. Nice thing, as apparently many users are having some issues with this new board, so we'll be able to address them better there, where they can post even if they can't login.

I've also updated the old styles (dark green and dark blue) so the buttons are now showing.

And I also took my time to finish upgrading all of the smiles. They should all be working now.

Anyway, we do not have much experience with vBulletin, so, yes, we might need your help from time to time... If you ever find any other issues, please let me know. We really appreciate your help.

Thanks a lot once more and welcome to our boards!!!

Paulo

PS: Great job you're doing at DiscussAnything! I'll be going back there soon (actually, as soon as I finish hunting the major issues down).

'DA', as we call it, is a continuous work in progress. It's amazing how flexible it is. Not only the admin panel is very elaborate, but if you feel confident enough to play with the php files and the templates, there really is no limit. Check out www.vbulletin.org, its a place with custom 'hacks' for the vb board. It'll give you an idea what you can do with it. Pretty cool stuff.

If any of you ever wants to contact me, feel free to shoot me a msg over aim (my preferred method, see profile for sn). I'm online pretty much all the time (European timezone nonetheless).

important i just tried it and apparently users have the ability to delete their own posts (edit -> delete). You don't really want this, because if they're the first post in a thread, they have the power to nuke the entire thread. It's something you might wanna change in the user group settings!

one other small thing, I would personally move the support/helpdesk to the bottom of the list. It usually doesnt get much traffic. Altho maybe for now its better at the top like that, since people do seem to have problems here and there.

glad I could help!

Wow. thanks a lot for bringing this (the delete first post issue) to my attention. I had no clue of the consequences, as a vB newbie. It should be fixed now.

Regarding the help desk forum position, it will definately be in the bottom, but I`ll leave it in the first position for a while, until our old users figure out how to deal with the new system...

But so far, vB seems to be running very smoothly. I just love this program. I go to vbulletin.org a lot and have a lot of projects and hacks on my mind that I`d like to implement here. As a matter of fact, I plan to use vB as the main script on this page. Everything will be done with it, including all the other pages (tabs, files, etc, etc). Of course it may take a while, but slowly, we`ll get there.

Again, many thanks for your help and support. I really appreciate you taking your time to visit us and letting us know about all those issues.
