Glastonbury

What is the current status of this rumour? I think right now that Mr. Waters is almost certain to perform, but I've been hearing a lot of other strange stuff, as well. What are the most likely stories?

This is from the official Glastonbury website:
"No bands have yet been confirmed for the 2002 festival. Rumours that any bands will be playing are just that, rumours! (...) The first artists will be on stage from Friday 28th June, and the festival goes on until late on Sunday 30th June.
The line-up for the Festival will be exclusively announced in Q magazine and The Guardian on 19th June."
I don't believe rumours about Nick Mason performing with Roger Waters. IMO it's safe to say Waters only is going to perform Glastonbury.

Well I heard a rumour that "Pink Floyd" was going to play at Glastonbury, that's probably wrong if Roger Waters is going to perform. But wouldn't it be cool if the Trio of Pink Floyd were there seperately from Roger Waters, they would have to do a big duel of the Floyds!

Yeah, I live fairly near Glastonbury, and I don't have a ticket, which is so frustrating!

This is what it said in the local newspaper (Western Daily Press) re. the line up:

"Sunday night's bill has been put together with the older generation in mind. Roger Waters, of Pink Floyd fame, as well as 70s soul legend Issac Hayes will be warming up for Rod Stewart"

??!!

There are some good bands playing, but it's a kinda weird mix?!

I know it is on TV and radio here, but is it broadcast outside the UK much at all?

Just saw Rog playing SOYCD, very nice

They were just starting to play WYWH but they decided to go back to the studio

I really am getting annoyed with presenters atm. The ones today were joking about Waters appearance sayin "That was Roger Waters, or Richard Gear or someone else

How can anyone be so ****ing ignorant

But the worst ignorant presenter was the guy who did VH1s top 100 albums, i really wanna hurt him for what he said.

Dont todays presenters realise that they are talking about one of the greatest bands ever!??!?!

I only managed to see comfy numb. live on the tv last Sunday night and it wasn't too bad. Roger did seem a little out of place on stage waving to fans a little and standing around doing nothing through most of the song when he wasn't singing. The crowd size was a very small concidering he was playing on the pyramid stage ... I think many people inc. my friend who was a steward for the weekend, went to the belle & sebastian show instead.

Well, I am a non-believer, a sceptical kind of person, and I usually don't believe internet rumours. I am not disappointed. I am happy the two guys are friends again and I hope they all return in good terms sooner or later. But still I disbelieve rumours as long as they are not news.

Good policy, Yannis. I was just being silly. If you pulled up some of my old quotes I'd stand a chance of getting a whole lotta egg on my face.
