| Re: Favourite "Comfortably Numb" You mean Orchestral Maneuvers? Then I agree with your assessment. That's just some silly "pops" thing, whereas on Us and Them the pieces were arranged into real compositions that tap on the full power of the music Pink Floyd wrote. You don't even need the lyrics. You can FEEL them somehow.

| Re: Favourite "Comfortably Numb" A lot of Orchestral Maneuvers really is puke. For example that trumpet which is playing the vocal line the whole way though of Wish You Were Here, in a really cheerfully way! God that is distasteful. Well at least there is a smiley that can express the awfulness of some bits on that cd: ![]() |

| Re: Favourite "Comfortably Numb" My favourite 'Comfortably Numb' would have to be the one form ITAOT, simply because it has a rougher, less precise sound than the modern live version they were pedalling on PULSE. If you listen insanely hard, you can hear a definite 'bzzzzz' (as if a wire isn't earthed or some such other roadie terminology) whenever Gilmour does his part. I just like that... to me, it doesn't detract; it adds. Who wants to listen to it live if it sounds like the studio version? Artex at ya, Mark

| Re: Favourite "Comfortably Numb" Hmmm... does seem like something of an extreme gesture, but I think that it might be because... in fact, I've got no idea why Thorin (Or 'Bob'. Or 'Angel') might want to cause you GBH. Maybe he's been listening to that Kelis track and got 'carried away'. Who knows? However, for the sake of pure pedantry, the version that you refer to originally appeared on 'The Wall' LP and therefore could be credited as such. Maybe that's why Thorin's got the arse. If that is the case, I suggest that he may need to take a nap or smoke a cigarette. Cheers, Mark
