Favourite "Comfortably Numb"

Here's the question--what is your favourite version of "Comfortably Numb"?

Pulse, of course. Best version ever. The second guitar solo is amazing. What's your favourite, FloydWright?

Re: Favourite "Comfortably Numb"

PULSE--without question. Excellent solo, as well as the slowed tempo, which creates a swaying effect. Also, you can't miss those wonderful, atmospheric keyboards, and the Hammond which builds in intensity during the solo until it's finally like a triumphant burst of light at the end...

Pure beauty.

Yes. This is something I do in poems a lot--I mix images of light and sounds. In my mind, when I hear music, I almost visualise it. It's not like I really SEE things, but in my mind there is a sort of visual "map" of the music...different colours and shapes that all mean different things and interact. And it comes out in my writing. It's part of why I like music so much...I can conjure up so many other arts when I hear it.

Re: Favourite "Comfortably Numb"

Oh. It still took me a few minutes to see it even after you pointed it out. I agree. Not a very good one...

I guess I thought you were talking about my "mixing of the senses" writing technique.

Re: Favourite "Comfortably Numb"

Somebody here voted "Other". Which version are you thinking of?

BTW--looks like the live versions are currently in the lead...

If you're talkin about the whole piece i say original one, though pulse solo is a bit better

Re: Favourite "Comfortably Numb"

Each one of the versions has their meaning to me, although I prefer Pulse version because of the solo...

Hey, Thor---relax. You're normal...I understood exactly what you meant! That same thought hit me, too...Must be a guy thing...or, you have to be an American, I dunno.

Re: Favourite "Comfortably Numb"

I actually voted for the studio version, but now thinking bout it, i do like the echoes version cos it has the "is there anybody out there" part just at the begining
