Grateful fan

Hello fellow members. My introduction to Pink Floyd was the release of Dark Side of the Moon. I was 16 years old at the time, living in Los Angeles. They blew my "mind out in a car", literally. I was "cruising" with my friends down Hollywood Blvd. when Money came on the radio. It was love at first listen.

Now I'm a much older woman, still living in Los Angeles, and still very much in love with this extrodinary band. I'm certain that if I'm lucky enough to see my 80's and perhaps even my 90's, I'll still be listening to "the fellas", as I like to call them.

I did see PF back in the mid-seventies when they came to my hometown. Although I remember it as an out-of-body experience, I really don't...remember much...if you know what I mean. The entire auditorium reeked of pot. It was wonderful. I had no idea what these guys looked like, and when I first saw David Gilmour I nearly fainted. So did most every girl there, and about a 1/3 of the guys. They were perfection. I was out of body because they were other worldly.

Nice to make your acquaintence!

Re: Grateful fan

Hello there, gemaedhi!

Welcome to APFFN and thanks for sharing your experience with us. I wish I could have seen them live around that time, mid-seventies, that's my favourite PF phase... But since I'm a bit younger than yourself and live far away from the mainstream countries, as far as artists tours are concerned, I only got to watch Gilmour live in 2001 and Waters in 2002. I'm hoping I'll be able to watch Waters once again in 2012, when he tours South America.

Anyway, thanks for joining and if you need any help with the site or the forums, please give myself or the moderators a shout!

Re: Grateful fan

Hi there and welcome.

I only saw Floyd live on the Division Bell tour, despite having been a fan since Meddle came out. I was at uni (in the UK) during the mid 70's, but they never came anywhere near the city where I was studying. Would have given anything to see them at that time, but such is life.
