Into the Wind, Parts I and II

I can't exactly explain it, but there is some very strong "imagery" in Mr. Wright's first solo album. I just added the second one of these poems to my website last night. I just wanted to share them here to see if anyone had any opinions, if it captures the music well at all.

Into the Wind, Part I (Inspired by "Waves")

I can feel the wind in my face
...and through my hair,
Hear the distant cries of the seagulls as I shove off
From the shore that grows more distant every moment.
My fears are rocked to sleep by the sea
Which laps playfully at the hull of my vessel.
My hands are callused from handling the ropes
by which I trim the sails
But their rough touch is inviting and familiar
I take a moment to cease movement,
Breathing soft but deep to take in the renewing scent of the ocean
And I listen...sing to me, ocean...
I hear the harmony of the clouds in the sky
I feel the breeze caress me in love--it knows me, my friend...
And I wish to know it, but I cannot contain the words in my mind
The sun reaches out to touch my cheek...gentle, harmonious
Like all else in this plane of peace
Away from land, away from all that binds me
I can hear my voice so clear
I sing--the dolphins that skim past me just below the surface
Are my audience and I am happy for them to listen
I need no others, for I feel complete, enfolded in solitude
Caressed in harmony
I feel the rhythm of the sea
You and me, we are one
Sing to me...
And I shall be...
Free...

Into the Wind, Part II (Inspired by "Cat Cruise")

Sunlight rains its gifts upon me
And why shall I fear to embrace it in its splendours
Wind and storm are no strangers
Toss me and I laugh
From wind and light I am born and to them I'll return
And I am not afraid to be scattered to the wind
That gave me breath
I am not lost
New wonderment carries me aloft on its wings
Renewed with each sunrise, reflected in each sunset
Is the cold not to be embraced
The heat to be savoured
Eyes wide to drink in the colours of sky and field
My feet ready to carry me where I will run
To feel the ground beneath me
And the breath in my body
To move and to be free, alone and unafraid
And this too is wisdom and beauty intertwined
And I shout my delight into the wind

Thank you very much, Red Bull; I was busy today and I'm sorry I couldn't thank you sooner.

Impressive, very good stuff. I mean, I've seen some stuff in these forums... and I just keep myself from stating my opinion.

Good stuff, I think it shows that you actually 'read' in your free time. I also read poetry and yours is good.

Anyway, just had to say that.

See ya, the sound sorrounds the icy waters undrground!

Thanks, Bertin Brando. As I said to Red Bull, I apologise to you for my delay; I was travelling.

Anyway...yes, I DO read a lot. I even sneak a page or two while I wait for webpages to load. I'm glad to hear you think well of my poetry--I am no master, though!
