Post Pink Floyd on the airwaves

Tying in with the huge upcoming Why Pink Floyd reissue programme (http://www.brain-damage.co.uk/latest...ities-and.html), the media are ramping up their coverage of all things Floydian. This weekend, some radio stations in the US have been airing a special show, called Why Pink Floyd? It's a 50 minute special that includes new interviews with Nick Mason (interviewed by Red Beard). It also includes several classic Floyd songs, two of which are previously unreleased tracks that will be on the upcoming Immersion edition of The Dark Side of the Moon (Roger's demo for Money and the November 1974 live performance of Us Them ). A US radio station in Connecticut are airing this tomorrow (Wednesday) evening at midnight EST. They stream live worldwide through this link (http://wesufm.org/listen.html). UPDATE: An edit (removing the music) of the interview can now be heard on-demand through www.InTheStudio.net (http://www.InTheStudio.net). In the UK, next Friday, September 16th, digital TV station BBC 4 will have a Pink Floyd night. There are three shows advertised: The Pink Floyd Story, then one hour of Floyd clips from 1967 to the present day, and the final hour presents the band Live At Pompeii . Our thanks to Gary Hurley for the info on this. BBC 4 is broadcast from 7pm every evening on Freesat channel 107, Freeview channel 9, Sky Digital channel 116, Tiscali channel 20 and Virgin Media channel 107, as well as directly from the BBC Four website. Many BBC Four programmes are also available after transmission on BBC iPlayer.FURTHER UPDATE: Tonight (September 7th) on BBC Radio 2, Old Grey Whistle Test 40 which airs at 10pm UK time includes Bob Harris as he speaks to film-maker Ian Eames about the film he created for a Pink Floyd song, which was screened on OGWT and led to a lengthy working collaboration between animator and band.
