Talking eugenesaxe, clean out your box!

I tried to send a PM again, but it bounced, again. Your PM box is full. Try to delete some old ones. If you think its empty, change the range to 'from beginning'. Or just raise the limit for all users

This is what I PM'd:

Quote:
yeah i did but it bounced because your PM box was full

What I wanted to ask you was if its possible to change my name to just 'tam'. Thats what i use on other boards. I'm not sure why i signed up with my current one, but it seemed a good idea at the time ....

If you change my name, all excisting posts etc will change with it, so it should all be a breeze.

Thanks

tam

Yeah, the limit is set to 70, which is the default for vB. I figured I shouldn't increase it because that may eat up a lot of megabytes in the long run, so users are forced to delete unimportant private messages.

Anyway, I can change your username for you if you want me to. Please let me know.

Re: eugenesaxe, clean out your box!

I was actually going to post about this. It says my inbox is full, but when I check it, it's empty. I can't find any messages anywhere on it.

I should say it says this at the bottom of the page:
(You have 0 unread messages and 162 total messages in all your folders.)

Re: eugenesaxe, clean out your box!

You may have to search further--I think there are places where you may have old messages still stored.

Re: eugenesaxe, clean out your box!

I was thinking the same thing FW, but I get this message:

"There are no messages to display in this folder for this time period."

So again,

OK, when you get into your PM box, make sure you're showing all messages from the beginning; there should be a drop-down menu where you make that choice.

Re: eugenesaxe, clean out your box!

And also check your "Sent Messages" folder, by default all of your sent private messages are stored there and they count toward the 70-message limit. Don`t forget to show messages since the beginning, as FloydWright mentioned.

Thanks for letting me know about the puke issue (this sounds funky). It`s been fixed now. I`ve just updated your username as you requested as well.

Re: eugenesaxe, clean out your box!

If you send a PM, and that person's inbox is full, is the pm you sent lost forever, or does it register once the person empties their inbox? Thanks....

Re: eugenesaxe, clean out your box!

I don't really know, PW...you may have to use the "send an e-mail" feature to let the person know to clear their inbox. At least, that's how someone let me know mine was full, once.

Yes, it automatically sent an email, but I am just curious to know, if I will have to rewrite the message or not.....hmm.....
