Re: Hey you!yes you! Damn Australians! P.S.: Welcome. It's quiet around here these days but there's lotsa stuff to read. Some silly, and some actually about Pink Floyd. Not much about gardening though.. Everything about PF seems to have been discussed by now, so, we're encouraged to add comments to already existing threads rather than starting new ones. So resurrect old topics and bring them into the modern age for a new generation to argue about. My Fenders are '80s models. One CBS and one post CBS. What are Eko guitars? By the way, just joking about the Oz reference. I used to enjoy irritating a Welsh friend of mine by calling him English. Rather immature, really....

Re: Hey you!yes you! Thanks for the welcome. No need to apologise for the Aussie reference.Us Kiwis joke about them all the timeHave the same love hate relationship as Canadians have with the Yanks. Not much into gardening but 2500 litres of fish tanks keep me out of the pubs.Besides I still have a bucket load of PF tunes to learn yet.Eko guitars were made in Italy late 50's thru early 80's until the factory burned down.Try google.I do have Fender custom 75 CBS strat,a reissue 72 tele,a sonoran acoustic and a DG14s/12 string(need it for "Wish you were here") Last edited by Z4Zander; 12-10-2011 at 04:45 AM.

Re: Hey you!yes you! I took a look at those Eko badboys. Some of those obscure budget line companies in those days produced some really ugly specimens. How many of those do you have? I don't own anything as striking as those but one of my favorite instruments is a Univox Ripper (google it). I've been playing that for about 30 or so years through an Ibanez 30 watt amp that is as old. It's relic'd through my own efforts. When I was younger, my whole approach to playing was full body contact! One night I bled all over the guitar I was playing (my pick thumb) and it wasn't my guitar. But because I'm a nice guy, I cleaned it off for the owner. What happened was that I had my 2 strats and the Univox but wouldn't you know it, I broke a string on all 3 of them very early on in the evening. I didn't bring spare strings because I figured, three guitars! What could possibly go wrong? I only felt slightly guilty about committing instrument abuse on some one else's pride and joy. Oh well, he never used it to it's full potential. He just would stand there and "play the guitar". He didn't have one dent on it. Of course, I've gone from the athletic Pete Townshend approach to the rather leisurely David Gilmour school of just "stand there and play your guitar". In fact I remember when..... .....no, I don't remember when. Those were the days! . Damn Australians!

| Re: Hey you!yes you! To Daphne Blue.Sit down this may take some time.I have 6 Eko's. 73 Ranchero 12 .A smaller bodied guitar. 73 Ranger 6 Electra.Neck pick up.Vol& tone pots on front. 82 Ranger 6.I bought this new with my very first pay packet. 82 Ranger 6.Lh conversion. It was cheap so i bought it for spares. 82 Ranger 12 Electra.Neck pu etc.Bought to replace one stolen from a gig. There are some @$^&&$@! *%@!~'s around. 60's(sometime)KD28.Made by Eko in Italy for Kay Guitar Co.USA. 200? Fender Stratacoustic.Awesome run thru the pedal board and the big amp. I use Fender 100w Sonic head thru a matching quad cab for the electric stuff and a 20w Aston (Aussie )acoustic amp for acoustic.duh.Then thru whatever PA is at the venue.Plus the previously noted Fenders.Nearly forgot the Ovation.Dont play it.It looked good in the shop and sounds sweet, but it is a big bowl back and it just dont sit right.Used to get the bloody fingers back when, but the tips have skin like rhino hide these days.Good for picking up hot coffees tho.I still have to bounce around abit at gigs.Playing with a bunch of younger guys at times.Still.Get to do the sit down acoustic bit at a restaraunt every now and again.Re 3 broken strings.Murphy's law huh. | Re: Hey you!yes you! Stamps?Yeah Right!!!.I suppose I like the whole concept of guitar.Easily transportable.Easily playable.(started my grandaughter at 5) The craft of making them. And last but not least, they sound good.Like Peter Jackson's,yup the movie guy,WW1 aircraft and Jay Leno's cars, someone has to show a little love and keep examples of good old stuff out of the landfills. That's my excuse anyway.P.S Google Tui beer. |

Re: Hey you!yes you! Distracting The Boys From The Task At Hand since 1889. I'll have to look around there a bit. I don't know if you get "Family Guy" down there, but it's an animated show sort of like the Simpsons. One commercial on Family Guy's TV was a beer commercial: Scene: Two hot chicks in bikinis, with beer in view chick 1: Let me put some of that lotion on you chick 2: boy it sure is hot chick 1: yeah and it just got hotter Bathing suit tops come off.... voice over: If you drink pawtucket patriot beer, hot women will have sex in your yard" Peter's wife watching the commercial: 'Typical male fantasy! Women drinking beer!'

Re: Hey you!yes you! I can't wait till Roger comes to my town! In late may. I already got tickets. I'm going to try to get tickets for both shows. I'm going to the second one, and the first show sold out in hours. But I bet there will be people selling tickets.
