Exclamation Publius

Hello everyone out there,

I didn't know if this had ever been covered on this forum before, or if anyone has come in contact with anything of the sort, but I had to ask. I was just doing a random search of "Pink Floyd" on AOL and came across a site I took interest in...the last page I viewed consisted of the "Publius Enigma" and it immediately grabbed my attention. After I read through that I went onto the larger site they had posted a link to, which was completely dedicated to the 'Enigma'. Now it's nearly 2 in the morning and I've been up chugging down Mountain Dew for way too long, attemping to find the forum that Publius was on 'viewing our progress' concerning this puzzle...with the added stressor of this Publius thing, my head is about to explode from attempting to make any light or sense of it, trying to figure out the Enigma. I don't actually own the Division Bell album, nor have I heard it in it's enitrety or seen it's artwork. All I have been trying is listening to the tracks and looking at the pics from DB off of Echoes..not much help (I'm a relatively recently exposed fan to PF, you see ). I was just curious if anyone had heard anything or had any information about the Enigma or could tell me where to go, possibly even help me or explain things....anything and everything at all...I apologize if this has already been covered previously.

Love Always (and still reading-on-edge),
`Me`

PS I'm sorry if this thread was posted where it should not have been, I figured this to be the best place since it has the most replies and threads...thus, I thought, the more people and more available help Thanks in advance and many more to come, hopefully, for all your help.

Re: Publius

It is relieving to know that someone sits and chugs soda in front of a computer at 2:00 in the morning... other than me.
As for Publius, this thing always confused me, too. And scared me more than a little bit sometimes, being that this 'person' actually got a number of messages out in Floyd-condoned material (two shows and the Minidisc artwork for Momentary Lapse of Reason).
So the Floyd must know about it.
I dunno... maybe solving this 'enigma' will get us fans a new tour or album...
Or maybe I'm dreaming...

Re: Publius

Not being a "true computer geek", staying up late drinking Mountain Dew notwithstanding, I can understand how you could miss that little box at the bottom of the "General" forum list called "Search this forum."

If you had put "publius" there, you would have been taken to search results showing NINE threads matching the search criterium.
PFfanNet Forums "Publius" Search results

Of the nine, excluding your own new one, there are five threads dealing specifically with the "ENIGMA" and somewhere there the truth about it is revealed.

Re: Publius

In case you missed it, not only is the PE totally ridiculous, but there hasn't even been any new info about it for about 4 years, thus it must be what we all always suspected, a marketing ploy by the record company.

Re: Publius

Well, let this be a lesson to any future unwary "Publius" posters:

THIS site appears to have no patience with such things and the collective will pounce upon any foolish enough to broach the subject.

Check out the search results to see examples.

Re: Publius

MY fury and wrath? I don't think so. All I have ever expressed about the subject was boredom, exasperation and acute skepticism.

If my elders and betters aren't even Gods, then I am less than the lowliest acolyte.

BTW, I don't believe in blood sports and rabid dogs should seriously be avoided.

I gotcha. I was just speaking abstractly.

I'm going to stop talking for a little bit before my words lose all meaning, excuse me....

Re: Publius

I must say, if it's a marketing ploy (as Gilmour recently hinted at in an interview), it certainly worked. I went out and bought not one, but two damn copies of this lousy CD (both UK and US) and I assure you that there is absolutely nothing. At. All.

Re: Publius

Thanks Sydney, but I think it was eugenesaxe who was wanting his brains blown out. Though how much permanent damage it would do, I couldn't say.

In any case, I'm not worthy of such high favour, but I thank you nonetheless (I have always wondered why there wasn't a corresponding word, "allthemore").

And lest we forget, fixxlevy is The Man.

I think that is in the Bible somewhere.
