Re: Raving and Drooling

I'd like to see some ultra-rare (but relevent) tracks included, like the connected version of 'Pigs on the Wing' Parts 1 & 2 (it's got an acoustic guitar solo over the main chords for about 30 seconds, played by Snowy White) that was only released on the 8-track tape version of Animals, and TRULY adds a different - yet COOL- dimention to it; 'Scream Thy Last Scream' and Vegetable Man'; 'Cymbaline' from the version ACTUALLY used in the movie...there's a collector's goldmine, as well as being marketable for the masses with BIG HITS interspersed throughout.

I wish for ECHOES they would have put the 7" 45 rpm version of 'Another Brick in the Wall Part 2' on instead of the usual one... that extended opening groove is magnetic!

How the hell can you tell where one ends and the other begins? It's almost like differentiating between SOYCD I - II - III etc.

Re: Raving and Drooling

Ah, my first thread. The soundtrack version of Cymbaline isn't all that different - it's still Dave singing. And the single version of Brick 2 is on "A Collection of Great Dance Songs" if you want to hear it that badly.

Rule of thumb: every time the "main theme" starts it's the end of a section.

I think we could include a bonus album of rarities:

RAVING AND DROOLING DISC THREE
(all stereo except * in mono)
Lucy Leave * 2:51
Carrera Slow Blues 2:19
Point Me At the Sky 3:35
Pigs on the Wing (1+2) 3:22
Candy and a Currant Bun * 2:43
Fingal's Cave 1:49
Theme From "The Committee" 3:30
Apples and Oranges 3:03
The Hero's Return (Parts One and Two) 3:54
Paint Box * 3:44
Hollywood 0:38
Scream Thy Last Scream 4:30
Bring the Boys Back Home (Single Version) 1:41
It Would Be So Nice 3:43
Oenone 6:21
Vegetable Man 2:28
Come In Number 51, Your Time Is Up 6:43
I'm A King Bee 3:03
Moonhead 5:47
Seabirds 3:50
Run Like Hell (Promo Mix) 4:42
Merry Xmas Song 2:07
Give Birth To A Smile 2:41
79:04

Dave WANTED Fat Old Sun in.

Everyone said no!

It's actually not all that far away from the soundtrack version... just a slightly different lead vocal.

I'd like to see a complete anthology-type collection of rarities, myself. There's too many of those "BIG HITS" to leave them out in favour of tinny old outtakes.

Re: Raving and Drooling

If - Cirrus Minor - Grantchester Meadows is my favourite part of the whole thing.
