| Re: Worst song from this era A good bunch of mediocrity indeed, except Don't Leave Me Now (I like the "ooooh babe" part). I say Paranoid Eyes. Awful.

| Re: Worst song from this era I'm probably going to be MURDERED for this...but I vote for "Pigs on the Wing, Part II". It seems to me as though he just slapped that on at the end...it really doesn't fit.

| Re: Worst song from this era I also like Don't Leave Me Now, except for Roger's vocal straining and the annoying breath on the right channel. Worst? Comfortably Numb! In all seriousness, I don't know. I'm not really that familiar with The Final Cut, but I know that there's some awful stuff on there. That's why I voted 'Other'. (BTW, are really going to believe that I don't like CN?) |

| Re: Worst song from this era Vera. It's just... I dunno... why the hell is it there? (ring ring) (ring ring) (ring ring) "Oh for ****'s sake... hello?" "Bob?" "Yeah?" "It's Roger." "****ing hell, Rog, it's 4 AM!" "I know, but I need you to produce this song I just came up with." "Uhhn. Roger, we finished the album. It's done. Why do you need to add another ****ing song?" "I dunno, I just like it. I haven't bothered to finish it or anything, or develop it, or tie it into the story, or anything, I--" "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Just go to the studio and sing it. I'll have Michael do some half-ass string arrangement." "Alright. Bye." I would have voted BTBBH but it has a sound collage at the end which I don't mind.

| Re: Worst song from this era Personally, I think The Final Cut is actually a superior work to The Wall. I don't see why "One of the Few" is bad...it's really rather creepy, and it's also necessary, because of the way it reprises in "Not Now John."

| Re: Worst song from this era In that context, Thorin, I agree. As a work in general, however, I think it IS superior to The Wall. But I do view it as mostly a Roger Waters solo album, in which case it is only surpassed by Amused to Death.

| Re: Worst song from this era The Final Cut superior to The Wall??? I think TFC is musically extremely weak and even if I do appreciate its contents and meanings, The Wall has an universal value which TFC cannot have.

| Re: Worst song from this era I don't like TFC because I like nice long songs with a decent insrumental part to them. Its very good lyrically but sometimes I get tired of hearing Rog's whining anti-war line all the time. After all, didn't we just hear that on the Wall? Can't he do any other theme apart from war? (and I'm not including PF's early material in that) Red Bull gives you wings but Rog ties lead weights to them, Red Bull

| Re: Worst song from this era To me, the themes are presented much more strongly than on The Wall; it may come from its being a tighter, more concise work. I also find that I can sympathise more with the character, who dares to show a sensitive side (even if it is not what rules him). A personal reaction, I suppose. And believe me...I AM sensitive to the musical weakness. But I feel he does very well with what he has.
