Top 5 worst instrumental songs

5. Absolutely Curtains (not actually an instrumental and not that bad, but I hate the tribal chants)
4. More Blues
3. Grand Viziers... part 2
2. Several Species...
1. Party Sequence

Your opinion?

Da_Floyd_Fan parts 1, 2, 4, 7

I don't have enough hates to make a top 5 list, but...
PowR TocH: I don't have anything against this track. (I dig the section right after the intro, with the piano, bass and toms.) It does get slightly annoying when the boys start to go crazy towards the middle... all that shouting and screaming... lord.
More Blues: I like the blues just as much as the next guy (the album of my stuff I'm working on right now contains an eight minute blues song), but I don't like how the rhythm section in the Floyd track fades up and down.
What were they thinking?

Shane

Pow R Toc H is a great song. the bbc one is good. i think it doesn't have the chaos at the end cause it fades out.

You know what? I love all Floyd instrumentals, even those from Ummagumma. No kidding.

I could probably make a list if I'd heard any of the soundtrack albums. Otherwise, I can't.

Mad Yannis--Your list is the same as mine, except I would put "Quicksilver" in the place of "Pow R. Toc H.".

What's so bad about "Pow R. Toc H.", anyway? I enjoy it, myself...

Mmm it has some annoying parts, I don't hate it but it's definitely one of my less favourite. Quicksilver has some good ideas, I know it's a piece hard to "enjoy" and I don't say it's the best thing in More but I like it.

I never said I hated PowR TocH. I just think the shouting and all that is a bit annoying... but charming.
I like this track, actually, because it shows the Floyd at their experimental best.

Hi mad yannis , yes , unbelievable as you may find it  I do indeed prefer Grand Vizier , it has a certain naive charm and is much more listenable than Ricks pseudo classical piece which only incites a severe migraine attack
