Re: Do you still have a PULSE?

The chant is a popular stadium chant in Italy, it says "alé-oň" and it means... nothing! It's pretty obvious that you can hear it after WYWH (recorded in Rome) but it's surprising that you hear it before Speak To Me (London). Now, I've heard that chant sung by football supporters of other European countries at the World Cup, but maybe they recorded that little bit in Italy (Modena or Rome), or the list isn't 100% accurate, who knows.

I think my PULSE is a European one. Now I've got to find a replacement battery...

Re: Do you still have a PULSE?

I think part of it is Italy and part of it (it's definitely once the speaking starts) is Earl's Court.

Re: Do you still have a PULSE?

Wow, reading these six pages of posts have been pretty cool. I have yet to buy pulse(I'm ordering it soon), but from what I've heard, it's completely awesome. Wright sounds excellent on Astronomy Domine -- and in my opinion, it's the superior version.

PULSE is great, and Dave's guitar solo in Astronomy Domine gets me amped.

You've heard wrong. At best it's mediocre. Dave's voice is flat. Roger's vocals are badly performed. The best part of the whole thing is Dave's CN, but since I am not a big CN fan, it really does me no good.

I don't think Roger was invited to that gig.

Re: Do you still have a PULSE?

I don't really care about gilmour's voice. From what i've heard it's mediocre. I just enjoy the subtle differences in the live versions.

Astronomy Domine, for example, has a slightly quicker pace, and has wright doing barret's part, and gilmour doing wright's former part. And besides, when the song approaches the end, it seems more climatic.

A simple difference in sound is all I need to purchase a live album. I don't particularly enjoy a live recording(or show, for that matter), if the sound is reproduced exactly.

Re: Do you still have a PULSE?

Gilmours' voice sounds fine to me and PULSE is far superior to DSOT.

Re: Do you still have a PULSE?

I like both PULSE and DSOT. Both have their merits.

I don't really see what's wrong with Gilmour's voice. But then I'm not female and don't melt when I hear him...
