Dogs of War is bashed way too much easily better than WDYWFM or Sorrow.

Agreed. Although I personally like A New Machine, too. Edit: I mean that I agree that it is bashed too much... but it is not better than Sorrow! That track 0wNzJ00!

I chose 'Ummagumma Studio Songs' because I truly believe that this was the best they could do at this time. Roger has stated that the band was drained for creativity at the time. And for the next album they did, they had to work with Ron Geesin to make a score for Atom Heart Mother. After this, they got their creativity back... made Meddle... and the rest is history.

My vote is On The Run, even if I should say A Saucerful Of Secrets but it isn't in the options. Anyway I think that if one dislike a song there's nothing to do, good or bad it's his personal taste. I doubt it's a matter of "comprehension".

I chose the Ummagumma studio songs. First, some of them I simply cannot identify as being "bad". "Grantchester Meadows" and "The Narrow Way" are really cool songs. "Sysyphus" and "Several Species" take work, but are not that bad, once you get used to them. Also, you can look at them as learning experiences. I think Mr. Wright, for instance, learned a need for subtlety rather than some of the rather clangy stuff in there. And I think Mr. Waters learned how many sound effects are TOO many. But still, not too bad once you develop an ear for them. Now "Grand Vizier"...I'm sorry, I can't explain that one. It's just... ![]() So I guess that certainly goes down under "misunderstood" or "incomprehensible"--whichever you feel fits best.

shane g: they should have just done AHM without a score. it sounds so much better. mad yannis: how can you hate ASoS? FWr: i'm flabbergasted that it took time for you to like a rick song.

Well, it's TRUE! I had to stop laughing long enough to listen. And once I did...all I could see for the second part was a Roadrunner cartoon...it really, REALLY sounds like a Looney Tunes soundtrack--I'm serious! There's also some stuff from Identity that took me awhile to get used to...but goodness knows who actually wrote some of THAT stuff! But "Sysyphus"--it's undeniable. I'm pretty sure this is where some of the lessons were learned that shaped his future music (mistakes not to be repeated).
