The poem was clever and a funny pot-shot at Roger. But I sort of push all that aside about Roger and think about the good... because he has several good thought processes and qualities that are good enough for me to ignore his overbearing egotistic personality. By the way, in the latest issue of Guitar World there is a Pink FLoyd DSOTM interview booklet, and in it it says that Roger is having dinners with Mason now and they are becoming friends again. edit: and another thing that gave me more respect fot he man is his answer to the very last thing the interviewer questioned: "Are you as guilty as them?" Roger: "Yeah, yeah, yeah"

Yeah, I can't stand the guy myself, but I suppose I could come up with a better reason than him throwing Rick out of the band.

Hey, if that d***head Monte Syracuse can write a poem bashing Roger in effigy, then I want to post my own Pink Floyd lyric spoof: I call it "WELCOME TO THE SODA MACHINE" from the CD, Wish You Were Beer. Welcome my son, welcome to the soda machine... Where have you been? It's alright, I know where ya been. You been in the pipe store smokin some more; Provided with weed or whatever you need. Ain't got a car, and you're walking so far... The heat makes you choke, so now you need a Coke. So welcome to the soda machine. Welcome my son, welcome to the soda machine... What did you push? It's alright I told ya what to push. You wanted a soda, but nothin came out; You lost your money because I'm all sold out! So welcome to the soda machine.

His poem was crap. And my opinion on this whole thing is: Well, I love Roger and think he's a great songwriter and singer and bassplayer. Yes, he DID have a bit of an ego problem, but I'm sure many of us would get big heads if we were so famous. Another opinion: And... My favorite Pink Floyd stuff isn't when Rog dominates. I like Pompeii a lot. Where everyone is working together to make this music, not just Rog controlling the whole musical direction of the band.
