Where do people come up with these superstitions? Like black cats crossing you, walking under a ladder, stepping on a crack, I don't get it

Some are based in logical truth that gets twisted in superstition. Others are the product of god-knows-whose demented imagination...

Some of the superstitions that date back prior to modern pharmacology are probabaly the product of bad mushrooms.
