Re: best song on the "MORE" album

I actually don't like the instrumentals very much (Party Sequence, More Blues...), but I like the other songs. My personal favorite is GITC.

Re: best song on the "MORE" album

I really enjoy More. If I'd realised I could've voted multiple songs, I would've put "Cymbaline" as well as the "Main Theme". But as it stands, I picked "Main Theme" because it is just SO catchy! I would've picked "Cymbaline" as well, because I enjoy the tune and the lyrics quite a bit.

"More"

Although there a few songs on the "More" soundtrack that I think could have been better, I thoroughly enjoy the flow of the album. As for my favorite track from the set; whereas many would say "Green is the Colour" or "Cymbaline," I would have to go with "Ibiza Bar." The raw lyrics and hard hitting music seem to express a genuine emotion that comes straight from the pit of the stomach.

Yes, alas, the talent in More has found its way through for me.

I have entered the Post-More-Hating era of my Pink Floyd fandom.

Re: best song on the "MORE" album

Cymbaline is by far my favorite track on this album. I might add that I am not a "More hater" either. I always liked the song, but after hearing it live, I fell in love with it. It's one magical tune!

If you will all notice, I changed "Circus Minor" to "Cirrus Minor".

Good to hear it, Radiochair. It happens to us all, I guess.

Cheers to you too, eug'axe for the correction.

Re: best song on the "MORE" album

I would have to be perfectly predictable and go with Cymbaline , I've got a couple of oustanding live versions of this track. More always seems to get overlooked in various polls and whatnot but every time I play it I'm always suprised at how enjoyable it is .

Re: best song on the "MORE" album

Yeah, MORE is another of the oft-overlooked albums with plenty of stuff to please all Floydoids.

My vote was for "The Nile Song". "Ibiza Bar" is essentially the same song, so it's kind of part of the pick.

Close nominees were Cirrus Minor, Main Theme and Dramatic Theme.

The one song that always is frustrating to me is "More Blues". In which Dave teases us with what sounds like the intro to what will be a scorching 12-bar blues jam, but ignition is never made, and it just peters out and dies....that bastard!

Actually, I'm kinda glad that I'm not the only guy who noticed this... that "Ibiza Bar" sounds a hell of a lot like "The Nile Song".

Oh, of course not! It's quite clear, to me.

Funny, but I only just saw this, and must echo Shane G.'s reaction with my own...

You do know now, of course, that Pink Floyd Blues is the more complete version of More Blues, so get your hands on that RoiO as quickly as you can for a better PF experience.

Oh yes, almost forgot: I have recently downloaded "Pink Floyd - 00 - BBC - 1968-1969 Recordings CD 2.mp3" (those effing lucky BBC weenies ) which has a much extended version, amongst other gems, of Green Is The Colour with David trying all manner of vocal variations and much scatting at the end.

Incidentally, this download is one of those strange, magickal ones where the total time displayed is 25:04 but the music goes on for 50 minutes. :o

The sound quality is fairly good with excellent versions of CWTAE (scary whispering, more DG scat), SoS, Point Me At The Sky, Embryo, Grantchester Meadows, the list goes on and on.

Floyd on!
